IODRA/About IODRA

What is IODRA?

IODRA is The International Optical Disc Replicators Association. It is THE trade association for all CD and DVD manufacturers.

Its mission is to be a strong voice for replicators in tackling today's issues - legal issues, technology transfer issues - which will impact your bottom line result.

Why was IODRA formed?

IODRA does not have equipment manufacturers, raw material suppliers and technology companies as members. So there is no confusion about whose interest we're fighting for.

The only interest is to support the optical disc replicators in today's licensing and legal jungle.

IODRA's Charter Statement?

Members on joining commit to our Charter Statement that they:

  • have technology licenses appropriate for their business
  • will be good corporate citizens in each country in which they do business
  • give full respect to all intellectual property rights of third parties

How does IODRA run?

IODRA has a Chairman and a Board.

The present Chairman is a lawyer, Guy Marriott, who has previous experience of the industry as EMI's General Counsel.

The Board meets quarterly in Europe or North America, and there is an annual meeting for all members who wish to attend.

Updates on legal and licensing issues relevant for YOUR business are always available.

Technically, IODRA is a Swiss Association registered in Geneva. Why? Well, Geneva is the world centre for legal and patent issues.
